Frequently Asked Questions
Get answers to common questions about Lomi Lomi.
Expect a full-body, oil-based massage using long forearm strokes, rhythmic deep tissue work, joint rotations, and stretching. Sessions may include Hawaiian music and breathing exercises. Therapists tailor pressure to your comfort and focus on relaxation, circulation, and energetic balance.
Pressure is customized to your preference and needs. Lomi Lomi blends gentle flowing strokes with deeper forearm and palm work; therapists communicate throughout to adjust intensity. Expect firm sustained strokes for tight areas and lighter strokes for relaxation and energy flow.
Arrive hydrated and lightly fed; avoid heavy meals beforehand. Wear comfortable clothing to the clinic—during the massage you'll disrobe to your comfort and be draped professionally. Remove jewelry and discuss any injuries or sensitivities with your therapist.
Frequency depends on goals: weekly sessions support chronic pain and recovery, biweekly sessions maintain mobility and stress reduction, and monthly treatments help with general wellness. Your therapist will recommend a personalized plan based on pain levels and lifestyle.
Lomi Lomi may be unsuitable for acute infections, fever, recent surgery, uncontrolled high blood pressure, deep vein thrombosis, or certain skin conditions. Inform your therapist of medical history, medications, pregnancy, or recent injuries so they can modify care.
We offer 60- and 90-minute Lomi Lomi sessions. A 60-minute treatment is $200; a 90-minute session is $275. Both include full-body, oil-based massage with stretching, breathing elements, and optional Hawaiian-inspired music to enhance relaxation.
